Quick FAQs.

Below are some of our most asked FAQs but you can find the rest on our FAQs page.

What is the Fee?
$260 for a 50 minute individual session. I work with adults and older teenagers (16+).
Do you process Medicare Rebates?
Yes, we can process the Medicare Rebate directly in the clinic. With a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you can receive a rebate of $145.25 for up to 10 sessions each calendar year, leaving an out-of-pocket fee of $114.75 per session.
Do I need a referral?
No you don’t need a referral to book an appointment. If you want to receive a rebate from Medicare you will need a referral and a valid Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.
How many sessions will I need?
In your first session, we will be discussing a treatment plan for you depending on your needs, your level of distress and the type of funding you have/ financial situation. Through Medicare you are able to access up to 10 sessions per year with a rebate of $145.25. Having a collaborative and open discussion with your psychologist will help you both work out the session frequency and duration that best fits your needs, and this is something that can be reviewed as the treatment progresses. It will also depend on the type of treatment we decide on. Some of the treatment modalities benefit from less frequent sessions with homework in between while others might be more efficient with more frequent sessions.
What can I expect from the first session?
Attending your first session with a psychologist can be daunting, and it is very normal to feel nervous and even anxious about doing so. Your psychologist will be aware of this, and will ensure as smooth and comfortable a process for you as possible. In the first session, we will typically be focusing on getting an understanding of your history/background and what has prompted you to seek psychological support. To do this, we may ask you a number of questions about your life (e.g., family and history) and overall mental health experiences, and may ask you to fill out some questionnaires. Your psychologist is also there to answer any questions you might have about what to expect from the course of treatment, confidentiality, and modes of treatment available (i.e. in person or telehealth)
